MG Motor India, the renowned automobile manufacturer, has revealed its retail sales figures for the month of May 2023. During this period, the company successfully sold 5,006 units, marking a remarkable growth of 25% compared to the same month in the previous year.
April 2023 had also been a prosperous month for MG, with the company selling 4,551 units. This sales figure was more than double the sales achieved in April 2022. Among MG’s impressive lineup of vehicles, the Hector emerged as the best-seller, contributing to nearly 70% of the company’s total sales in India.
Optimistic Outlook and Customer Demand
MG India holds a positive outlook on its future growth prospects and aims to meet the increasing customer demand through a series of ongoing and planned production and operational initiatives.
Strong Performance of Electric Vehicles
The sales of MG’s electric vehicle, the ZS EV, have shown significant growth, further reinforcing the company’s commitment to electric mobility. Additionally, the recently launched MG Comet EV, known as the Smart EV, has received a positive response from customers, strengthening MG’s position in the electric vehicle segment.
Exciting New Launches
During the month of May, MG introduced a special edition of the MG Gloster called ‘The Advance BlackStorm.’ This variant represents India’s first autonomous Level-1 premium SUV and adds to the company’s portfolio of innovative offerings.
MG Comet EV: The Affordable Electric Vehicle
Priced at Rs 7.98 lakh ex-showroom, the MG Comet EV stands as the most affordable electric vehicle in India. Following the success of the ZS EV, the Comet is MG’s second electric vehicle launch. It specifically caters to customers residing in urban areas, offering a compact exterior design and a spacious interior.
